Dan teaches you how to play a riff from his original song, "Abandon"!

Abandon is a progressive metal meets Iron Maiden style of song; covering everything from atmospheric violin style melodies, melodic solos, aggressive riffing and sheer speed metal madness. In this episode we cover the interlude riff. This particular idea makes a great alternate picking exercise but I also let you see, in part, how I organize the fretboard. What lies beneath the riff is a great, melodic approach to writing riffs.
